Using the builder (overview)

The ChurchBee email builder has LOTS of features. Let's begin by looking at the builder in general.

This article gives you an overview of the ChurchBee builder.

Stage vs Sidebar

The Sidebar is the right hand column of the screen. In the image below, the Sidebar is full of grey rectangles. These represent customizable design elements.

The Stage is the remainder of the screen. In the image below, it is blank (white). You will drag and drop content blocks and rows into this section while designing.

There is an icon that separates the builder stage and the sidebar. You can use this to minimize the sidebar at any time.

To begin designing on the stage, you must select a design element from the sidebar. The sidebar includes three tabs to help you create content.

Content, Rows, Settings

At the top of the sidebar, you will see three buttons: content, rows, and settings.

SETTINGS

You use the settings tab to set global defaults. In other words, settings for your entire email design. When working with rows and content, those design elements inherit these settings.

You can use the settings tab to modify the following options:

  • Content area width

  • Content area alignment

  • Background color

  • Content area background color

  • Background image

  • Default font

  • Link color

  • Email details (optional)

  • Language (optional)

ROWS

Rows: The main structural element of your email will be your rows. Look at the image to the right. Notice that you can customize the column structure within each row. Most importantly, rows act as a container for all of your content blocks.

Once you insert a row into your stage, you will be able to design that row.

Click on the row to reveal the row properties:

Many options populate in the sidebar when working with rows including:

  • Row background color

  • Content area background color

  • Content area border

  • Content area rounded corners

  • Stack on mobile (on/off)

  • Stack order on mobile

  • Hide on

  • Cards rounded corners

  • Padding

Since rows can include columns, note the section Columns Structure. You can use this section to modify the column structure. There is an +Add new button you can use to insert new columns. A separator icon populates between each column. Click and drag the icon to change the column structure.

You can design each column individually. To toggle between columns, click on the column in the sidebar you want to modify. The selected column is highlighted in yellow in the sidebar.

CONTENT

The ChurchBee builder offers a variety of content blocks. All content blocks include padding settings and hide-on settings in the sidebar.
